TaxNext ("TaxNext", "we", "us") is operated by VNAV & Associates, Chartered Accountants. This policy explains what personal data we collect through taxnext.in, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. What we collect
- Calculator inputs — figures you type into any calculator (income, deductions, rent, loan amount, asset purchase prices) are processed client-side in your web browser. We do not save, transmit, or log your financial inputs to any server.
- Account data — when you sign up to bookmark calculations or save preferences, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address and sign-in credentials.
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, topic category, and the message you send us, stored securely so our advisory team can respond.
- Technical telemetry — standard error reports and diagnostic telemetry (via Sentry) used solely to diagnose code bugs and prevent site crashes.
2. Why we collect it
We use your data solely to operate the platform (authenticate your account, dispatch responses to your inquiries), diagnose technical errors, and deliver the monthly newsletter if you have explicitly subscribed. We will never sell, rent, or monetize your personal data.
3. Who we share it with
We use trusted infrastructure processors to operate the platform: Clerk (authentication), Appwrite (secure database and resource storage), and Sentry (error logging). Each processes data strictly under enterprise privacy and security covenants. We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except where required by a statutory court order or law enforcement under Indian law.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential cookies strictly required for secure authentication (set by Clerk) and theme preferences (light/dark mode). We do not deploy third-party advertising tracking cookies or ad network pixels.
5. Your rights under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a Data Principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the statutory right to:
- Request a summary of personal data held by us.
- Request correction or updating of inaccurate personal data.
- Request erasure and complete deletion of your account and associated records.
- Withdraw newsletter consent at any time via the one-click unsubscribe link in every email.
6. Data retention
We retain account records for as long as your account remains active. Inquiry submissions are archived for the duration necessary to resolve the query and meet professional compliance recordkeeping requirements.
