TaxNext ("TaxNext", "we", "us") is operated by VNAV & Associates, Chartered Accountants. This policy explains what personal data we collect through taxnext.in, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. What we collect

• Account data — when you sign up to use a calculator, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address and sign-in credentials.
• Contact form submissions — name, email address and the message you send us, stored so we can respond.
• Calculator inputs — figures you type into a calculator (income, rent, loan amount, etc.) are processed in your browser to compute the result. We do not save these inputs unless a future feature explicitly says otherwise.
• Technical data — standard server logs and error reports (via Sentry), including IP address, browser type and pages visited, used only to keep the site working and to fix bugs.

2. Why we collect it

We use your data to operate the site (authenticate you, respond to messages), to improve it (diagnose errors), and to send you the newsletter if you subscribe to it. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Who we share it with

We use third-party processors to run the site: Clerk (authentication), Appwrite (database and file storage), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except where required by law.

4. Cookies

We use cookies required for sign-in (set by Clerk) and, where enabled, basic error monitoring. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and associated data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

6. Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active, and contact-form submissions for as long as needed to resolve your query, after which they may be deleted.

7. Children

TaxNext is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
